The  Vienna  Trumpet  Consort  has  been  existing  since  1987  and  plays  especially  Baroque  Trumpet  Music  for  4  up  to  12  Trumpets  in  the  original  accompaniment  by  a  Chamber Orchestra. All  the  music  we  play  is  written  out  of  the original  sources  you  can  find  in  all  the  libraries  and archives  in  Vienna, Prague, Dresden, Darmstadt etc. We play no arrangements.We play on modern instruments,  nearly all Piccolo-Trumpets are made by YAMAHA.

The leader and manager of the Vienna Trumpet Consort is Dr. Wilhelm HEINRICH, the main specialist for the Piccolo Trumpet in Austria. He was successful in uniting his friends,  some of the leading trumpet-players of Viennese Orchestras  -Wiener Philharmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, RSO Vienna  and the NTKOrchestra - in this ensemble.

The  home  of  the  Vienna Trumpet Ensemble  is  the  most  beautiful  Baroque-Church  in  the  centre  of  Vienna, the  so  called “Jesuitenkirche” or Old University Church. There they
have a permanent series of  4  concerts  a  year  since  1995.  This  concerts  are  supported  by  the  Ministry of Culture, the  Bureau of Culture  of  the City of Vienna  and  YAMAHA.  We  are  promoted  by  on  of  the  largest  newspaper  of  Austria:KURIER.

Their  main  interest  is  to  play  trumpet-music  from  the  Viennese  Emperor  Court,  which  was  written  for  all  the  festivities  at  the  court. The  Emperors Court  in  Vienna  had  the  largest  orchestra  in  Europe  and  many  famous  composers  were  employed  here,  to  write  music  for  the  largest  and  most  famous  Trumpet-Corps  in  Europe.  Now we  reanimate  this  music,  and  people  like  this glorious sound  of  the  Baroque  very  much.

If  a  larger  orchestra  is  needed, we  add  2 Oboes, 1 Bassoon  and  sometimes  4 more  trumpets
