David Hernando
CONDUCTOR

David Hernando began his piano studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Valladolid, Spain. He continued his studies at the State Conservatory of Bratislava, Slovakia, and later studied for Conductor of Orchestra at the Academy of Arts - School of Music, also in Bratislava. Upon finishing his studies he was invited by the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra to conduct its graduation concert. David completed his studies with the highest possible qualifications specializing in orchestra conducting, opera, choir and accompanying pianist.

David continues to dedicate some of his time to his musicological studies and has completed seminars at the Internationale Bachakademie in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, with renown conductor Helmuth Rilling. Currently, he is completing his Ph.D in Music Theory at the Academy of Arts in Bratislava in the studies of the Classical Periode music interpretation.

During his many years in Slovakia, David has conducted some of the most important orchestras in the country including the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Košice, the Orchestra of the Camara Opera, Capella Istropolitana and Camerata Eslovaca. In Spain David is often guest conductor for the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias (Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias) and the Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de León (Leon Symphony Orchestra). In addition, he has made several recordings for Slovak Radio and Television.

With the BSO had made more than 200 recordigns of all types of music and worked with many prestigious composers and recording technicians, for companies as: Warner Music, Sony Music and for many diferent countries as: USA, Spain, UK, Norway, Germany, France.
