Lorena Eckell is nowadays one of the young outstanding Latin-American pianist
She has given recitals and has performed as a soloist with orchestras of Argentina, Spain, Peru and El Salvador, such as the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru, the National Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador, the Symphony Orchestra of Trujillo , the Symphony Orchestra of Mar del Plata, the Symphony Orchestra of Tres de Febrero, the Symphony Orchestra of Lanùs, the Symphony Orchestra of San Martìn, the Symphony Orchestra of Avellaneda, and the Symphony Orchestra of Chaco.
She has been conducted by J.L Maurtua, J.M. Ulla, M. Maggiolo, T. Alvarez, G. Giglio, V. Falkenmeyer, M. De Rose, A. Espina, A. Duca, D. Bozzani.
This young artist was graduated as pianist at the "Buenos Aires Juan José Catro Conservatoire". She has studied piano with Inés Gómez Carrillo, Aldo Antognazzi, and Ivan Citera in Madrid. Pia Sebastiani, the famous argentine pianist of great international trajectory, has said about her: “Lorena is an artist of an excellent technique, with great inventiveness and very personal in her interpretations”
In 1996 Lorena Eckell took part in the "Second International Meeting of Young Musicians" from the River Plate Basin (Province of Entre Ríos), performing solo piano and chamber music. In 1998 she won the Second Prize at the National Competition of Piano (City of Necochea), one of the most important and traditional competitions of her country.
In several times , Lorena Eckell was invited as soloist by the Symphony Orchestra of Mar del Plata , highlighting the opening of the First International Festival “ Tango Fusion”, organized at the occasion of the IV Summit of the Americas (Mar del Plata, November 2005).
During 2007 Lorena was invited to open the International Season of the Peru National Symphony Orchestra , as well as to the opening of the National season of the Chaco Symphony Orchestra , performing in both occasions the Piano Concerto N°5 “Emperor” of Beethoven
Lorena´s other recent and future engagemnts during 2007/8 include the promotion of a CD, based on argentinian composers such as Astor Piazzolla, Alberto Ginastera, Carlos Guastavino y Juan José Castro, as well as recitals and piano concertos in Argentina and in foreign countries.
